Pull requests
Review a GitHub pull request, then merge or close it.
Reviewer reads your repository's open pull requests from GitHub, so you can review one the same way you review your own changes.
Connecting to GitHub
Reviewer uses the GitHub access you already have. It looks for a token in
GITHUB_TOKEN or GH_TOKEN, then for the GitHub CLI's
login. If you have neither, sign in with the CLI:
gh auth loginSettings shows which GitHub account Reviewer is using.
Finding a pull request
Open the Merge requests surface. The sidebar lists the open pull requests, grouped by the branch they target. Each row shows its title, author and branch, whether its checks passed, and whether anything blocks the merge.
Search the list, or filter it by target branch and age. The list refreshes every time you come back to the app.
Reviewing it
Click a pull request to open it. The top of the page is its overview: the title, description, branches and size, with its checks and reviewers beside them. Below that are the files it changes and the diff, which you read and comment on like any other.
Acting on it
The column beside the overview has the actions:
- Merge, with a merge commit, a squash or a rebase. Reviewer asks you to confirm first.
- Check out, to run the branch locally.
- Close, after you confirm.
- Open on GitHub.
